Untitled (47 Rockets), 2016-18

This sculptural piece was initially inspired by the well-known anecdote in which a single piece of paper is capable of being folded in half, over and over again (some say 47 times) until it reaches the Moon. While considering this theoretical concept but physical impossibility I became interested in the artistic potential of folding and manipultaing my photographic prints.

Untitled (47 Rockets) pays homage to both a NASA prototype model and museum display object and is part of a wider exploration in my practice into alternative presentation methods and manifestations of photography.
