Untitled (47 Rockets), 2016-18

This recently completed sculpture was initially inspired by the well-known anecdote and impossible feat, in which a single piece of paper is theoretically capable of being folded in half, over and over again (some say 47 times) until it reaches the Moon. While considering this odd vision I became interested in the artistic potential of folding when done in combination with photographic prints.

Untitled (47 Rockets) is a homage to both a NASA prototype model and museum display object and is part of a wider investigation in my practice which explores and interrogates alternative presentation methods in photography.
