The Homegrown (Pandemic) Collection 2020-24

A body of work exploring the artistic possibilities of homegrown peppers seen through the prisms of lunar study and sustainability. 116 unique prints on found expired silver gelatin paper stock.

Works from the project have been featured in the More/Less issue of USA-based Float magazine, the FOOD issue of Canadian-based PhotoEd magazine (#67 – Spring/ Summer 2023) and in issue 2 of maybe. magazine, a German arts publication published by Kalamari Klub, based in Heidelberg.

To date, works from the series have been shown in exhibitions in both Europe and North America and the whole series formed the backbone of a solo exhibition at arc.hive artist run centre in Victoria, BC, Canada in June 2024.

‘Pepper001ExpA’ was also included in Lenscratch’s May 2025 online exhibition GROWTH, curated by Sierra R. Aguilar (https://lenscratch.com/2025/05/growth-exhibition/), ‘Pepper000ExpC’ was shortlisted in the ‘Fujifilm Innovation Award’ category of the internationally renowned Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year competition in 2022, whilst ‘Pepper005CTCC’ was awarded the inaugural Glover Rayner Prize at Photofusion’s SALON/21 exhibition in 2021.
